Key responsibilities include
- Prepares asset, liability, capital account, income, and expense entries by compiling and analysing source documents and information.
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options.
- Compiling and processing journal entries.
- Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
- Process and perform daily reconciliations of internal financial systems.
- Process and perform monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
- Analysing and investigating annual and monthly financial accounts.
- Preparing monthly management accounts, reports, budgets, commentaries, and financial statements.
- Liaising with managerial staff, colleagues, and clients.
- Maintain the administrative tasks associated with the accounting function.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
- Controlling income and expenditure.
- Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
- Compute taxes and VAT and prepare tax and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
