The objective of the interview is to convince the interviewer that you are the most qualified potential team member. Make a good first impression. Remember, your first impression may be the ONLY impression you make. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Do your homework prior to the interview. Reading a company’s annual report, brochures, newsletters, and other material, can make you an informed candidate. Use a firm handshake and smile when you meet people, address them by name, and maintain eye contact during any conversation and the interview. Smile – you are trying to impress the employer!   Coaching Why Coaching? I suppose this question is easily formulated due to the uncertainty of this new age learning method. After listening to “The Coach” – Johan Brits – at a successful network breakfast seminar arranged by TSM Consulting, this uncertain term made much more sense! There are numerous “chancers” that don’t have the credentials and unfortunately damage the image of coaching. A successful Coach must have life and work experience as well as the qualifications to be able to make a substantial differenceRead More →

The following piece is quoted from the book, Zest for Life, written by Dawn Breslin. It is thought provoking and I would like to share it with you. “The Oxford Dictionary defines success as: “favourable outcome of accomplishment, attainment of wealth, fame or position”. For so many of us, the emphasis in our school years was about being the best in everything and always striving to do better. Success and competitionRead More →

Today TSM Consulting presented their first workshop in Ghana to the Local Government Service Secretariat in Accra, it was a workshop on Business Writing and Etiquette Skills. The participants enjoyed it tremendously.  Business etiquette can influence your ability to succeed in your career.  It organises and shapes your behaviour into a predictable and professional manner.  When your behaviour matched what people expect, they can focus on your message and not waste time with interpretation.  When you interact with customers, serious missteps in etiquette can lead to a loss of respect and reputation for you and your company.  In some situations they can even cause clientsRead More →

TSM Consulting is expanding and one of the avenues is venturing into Ghana.  What an amazing experience! Not knowing what to expect, was a bit daunting, but the friendliness of the people in Ghana made it easier. The humid weather was something to adapt to, but luckily air conditioned offices welcomed us. We are very excited about the possibilities that Ghana has to offer. Anglo Gold Ashanti is already one of our clients and it is a real pleasure doing business with them. TSM Consulting appointed Isaac Okwaning who is born and bred in Ghana. He enjoys the traditional Ghanaian dishes. Exploring the city isRead More →
